O.S.P. pro staff Yuki Minemura is a frequent podium finisher in sight-fishing events around Japan’s Kanto area. His go-to lure was the handmade SAIKORO Rubber from Fieldside, a bait that proved devastatingly effective but remained rare because it couldn’t be mass-produced. Many anglers never got to experience what that little lure could do, so we partnered with O.S.P. to bring its concept to a wider audience.

Though the SAIKORO Rubber is well known for tempting bass feeding on insects and shrimp, it also triggers strikes from fish that target small baitfish. That comes down to a compact profile that nonetheless creates a strong water push, enabling instant, sight-fishing-style reactions. The typical presentation is a no-sinker drop into the bass’s sightline; when a fish gives chase, a twitch will often provoke a decisive bite.

O.S.P WORKS SECONDARY takes the original and optimizes it for specific applications, delivering performance that surpasses the handmade SAIKORO under certain conditions. The SAIKORO Rubber MAXSALT is a high-specific-gravity version tailored for deeper presentations that the SAIKORO Rubber NONSALT can’t reach with a no-sinker. It’s also ideal for tactics that suspend the lure, such as using a guarded hook to hang it from a branch.
